What kind of Academic Services are available in this program?

As a registered faculty member or student you will have free access to the entire Sun Web Learning Center modules in your curriculum path in Java, Solaris, Sun ONE or StarOffice.

Is there a cost ?

There is no cost for taking a Sun Web-based course, and access to the Sun Learning Center Portal also is free and unlimited. Some Sun publications are available to faculty members at discounted prices, if they choose to use them for a course.


How can I register for free on-line SAI courses?

As a faculty or a student in MSCS department, you can register for free online SAI courses by doing the following steps:

    1. Direct your browser to: https://learningcenter-sai.sun.com/gui/ito/generic_index.jsp.
    2. Choose "New Student" option on the left of the page.
    3. Click "I Agree" button at the bottom of the page.
    4. Fill out the registration form. Choose your own user ID and password, fill out your personal information. If you have an account on studsys, you should have received an email from the system administrator regarding this program. You can find the code number that you should provide in that email. If you do not have an account, please contact the program administrator, Lingtao Zeng, at lzeng{at}mscs.mu.edu.
    5. Submit the registration form.
    6. Log in by using the username and password you selected.
    7. Choose "Course Catalog".
    8. From the menu, choose the course you wish to take.
    9. Choose the modules you wish to take by clicking on "Add to Cart".
    10. Submit your choices.
    11. Click on "Shopping Cart", if it did not automatically go there upon submission.
    12. Double check your courses and click on "Check Out". Your only choice for payment will be company account.
    13. Click on "Continue ".
    14. You should have a "$0" total amount due after the 100% discount has been taken.
    15. Click on "Complete Purchase".
    16. You will get "Purchase Successful".
    17. You will receive an email letting you know your have "purchased" the courses.
    18. Click on "My Courses".
    19. Choose the first module of your course and click "start the course". Note: Once you start Modules, they will be available for 90 days. Do not start more than one module at a time to avoid the deadline.
    20. Your course will open in a new window. Enjoy your course!
