Description of the Program

The Department of Law was established under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Science to advance human rights, social welfare, and justice through knowledge of the law. It is expected that the students would play a central role in meeting the vision and mission of the Law Department of Daffodil International University.   

The Department of Law has more than 15 full-time faculty members.  The academic program of LLM in the department is conducted semester-wise in a well-planned way where the best quality education is given to students covering the most updated OBE-based syllabus & curriculum on Law & Legal studies. Different kinds of academic, co-curricular, mooting and debating, trial advocacy programs, legal aid and counseling activities, national & international conferences, seminars, workshops, and literary discussions are organized regularly. The Department has one moot courtroom with all the latest facilities and a research center titled “Daffodil Institute of Legal Research- DILR,” which aims to do the best practices of law and efforts to develop the best connectivity between industry-academia, bar- benches, people-law graduates, etc.

Structure of the Curriculum

 (1)  Duration of the Program:  1 Years            Semesters: 02

(2)  Admission Requirements:

 # General Student:

Admission to the LLM program is selective. To apply for admission in this program, the student must have an LLB (Honors) degree from any recognized university with second class or CGPA 2.50.  

# English Medium Student:

Students completing five O-level subjects and at least two A-level subjects may apply. Out of these 7 subjects, applicants must have a minimum of 4 ‘B’ grades & 3 ‘C’ grades.

(3)Total Minimum Credit Requirement to Complete the Program: 40

As per BNQF (Part B) for Higher Education, A student would be awarded an LLM degree after completion of 1 (One) years of courses earning 40 credits in 2 (Two) semesters with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50. A student shall have to complete the program within the maximum period of two academic years from the admission year.

(4)  Total class weeks in a Year /Semester:

18 weeks (3 hours per week and a total of 56 hours) in a Semester

(5)  Minimum CGPA requirements for post-graduation:  2.5 out of 04 CGPA

(6)  Maximum academic years of completion:  2 (Two Years)

(7)  Academic Year:

Each Academic Year is divided into 2(two) semesters.

Spring Semester:  January-June

Fall Semester:      July- December
