CoronaThon-19: A Hackathon for Combating Coronavirus- An initiative of Daffodil International University


With the recent emergence of deadly Coronavirus, Daffodil International University has taken a number of innovative initiatives to tackle the pandemic situation. DIU believes that besides the health and medication system, technology, specially the AI based tools, can play a vital role to fight against the current corona pandemic. Accordingly, Daffodil International University is organizing the CoronaThon-19: A Hackathon for Combating Coronavirus all over the world during 28-30 April 2020. Under this competition, students from Grade 10 to Post Graduation level will be eligible to compete online and solve the challenges created by the current pandemic. This initiative mainly aims at developing the best possible solutions to fight against the Corona pandemic and also engage the students in productive work during this lockdown period. It will also help them to think out of the box towards the real challenges. Students from relevant institutions and networks all over the world are invited to join the CoronaThon19.

The winning team or individual with the most feasible AI solution idea to tackle COVID-19, will be awarded a financial amount of $25,000 (BDT 20,00,000+) and all other required research facilities from DIU to implement the idea. Besides, each participant will get online certificate for their active participation in this innovative competition.
